Hi, my name is Claire Powell Taylor; I sculpt all the dolls you see here on my website. Now it's 2015 and I hope I am not showing my age by saying I have been making dolls now for over thirty years. My favorite dolls to sculpt are portraits of children and babies. I strive for constant never ending improvement as I try to make my dolls as realistic as I possibly can. I am a wife and mother of 5 and when I am not busy with my family you can usually find me doing what love to do best, I will be in my studio making dolls. I started making dolls in 1982, then in 1985 I started making my own porcelain dolls, I sculpted and molded them. I attended many doll shows back then and sold my porcelain dolls and plaster molds for doll makers who were interested in making porcelain dolls. After Hurricane Andrew destroyed my studio in 1992, I decided not to rebuild and replace all kilns my porcelain equipment. Instead, I started using polymer clays to make (one of a kind ) OOAK dolls. In October of 2006 I became a member The Professional Doll Makers Art Guild and in August 2007 I experienced my first show when I showed my dolls with the guild at The Doll & Teddy Bear Expo at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. I enjoyed it and I started showing my dolls at doll shows once again. Since then I have moved from selling OOAK dolls to offering vinyl kits, and now silicone dolls and kits also. Like I did way back then when I sculpted and molded porcelain dolls, now I sculpt and mold silicone dolls and kits. I sell both completed dolls and kits for those who want to make dolls. I look forward to making even more beautiful babies in the future.
Thank you so much for visiting my website. Come back again soon
